The Humber Bay Shores

Experience A Perfect Balance Between New Developments and Natural Beauty

The Humber Bay Shores is a veritable city-within-a-city of condominiums at the foot of the Humber River. This desirable location sits right on the waterfront with exquisite views of the lake and Toronto skyline.

Ultimately, it will be home to 25,000 residents. Slow in coming has been the promised development of area amenities for a community of this size. Well, now things are starting to happen.

In what promises to be a thriving waterfront community, plans are underway to create a pedestrian-friendly promenade along Marine Parade Drive, a waterfront walkway originally planned in 1890, with shops and restaurants across 20 acres of waterfront property.

Local restaurants are starting to pop up along this waterfront avenue, like the Eden Trattoria. Specializing in Italian cuisine for over 18 years, this family restaurant has become a favourite for locals and tourists alike, with a menu that originated at Eden’s first and original location in Corso Italia.

There’s also a new pub-style restaurant that’s opened on Marine Parade Drive.

The Firkin on the Bay promises to be a new breed of British pub, inspired by a contemporary U.K. vibe, offering a selection of 30 beers on tap and bottle.

For residents who like to shop, there’s the Pier 1 Imports store on the Queensway, specializing in in a unique assortment of imported furnishings, home decor items and tableware for your condo. 929Cakes is an interesting little bakery and grocery store on the Lakeshore that specializes in unique, delicious and affordable cakes for all events.

And the Humber Bay Park Metro store offers local condo dwellers a fresh variety of foods and services, including organic and natural products, a sushi counter and a full-service florist.

This year, The Humber Bay Shores Condominium Association will continue to bring the farmers’ market to the community. The market is held Saturdays from June through October at the Humber Bay Park West, with local farmers from Ontario featuring fresh produce, meat, herbs, cheeses and preserves.

A network of waterfront parks south of the condos offers a quiet refuge from the busy city.  The Humber Bay Butterfly Habitat is four-acre natural reserve located in the Humber Bay Park.

An ecological restoration project that’s the first of its kind to have large areas devoted exclusively to native plants, it provides a habitat for a variety of native butterfly species.
